A real Brew film · brew.fm/bart

Who lives in your Spotify?

Brew listened to 2,076 songs from Bart’s artists and found 4 people living in there. Then it made them a film, cut to their own songs. Yours takes about a minute.

How the score works

Spotify gives every artist a popularity score from 0 to 100, driven by how much their songs are being played. brew averages that score across the artists in your library. An average of 55 or below makes you Niche; above it, Mainstream - and the meter shows how far you lean.

Most people are more basic than they think

Of the 772 people who read their Spotify on brew between July and October 2026, 96% came out Mainstream. Niche is the rare result - about one in 27.

Mainstream isn’t an insult. It means your taste meets most people where they are. The more interesting part is the rest of the reading: the different people living in your library, and which one is taking over lately.

Questions people ask

What counts as basic?
In brew’s reading, basic means Mainstream: the artists you listen to average above 55 on Spotify’s 0-100 popularity scale. Niche means they average 55 or below.
Is it free?
Yes. The whole reading is free - your sides, your four letters, your type and the film. Brew only charges for living playlists that keep adding new releases ($49 once, no subscription), and you never need them for the test.
How long does it take?
About a minute the first time, because brew listens to every artist in your library. After that your reading opens instantly.
Do I have to give brew my password?
No. You sign in through Spotify’s own login page, and brew reads your library from there. It never sees your password and never posts anything for you. brew is independent and not affiliated with Spotify.
