The Spotify personality test

The personality test your Spotify already took

No questions, no boxes to tick. brew reads four dimensions straight out of your listening, splits your library into the people living inside it, and names the type they add up to. It just listens - and it is uncomfortably accurate.

No quiz. Free. Reads your Spotify in about a minute.

Trusted and loved by 5,000+ people like you who care about music, since 2021.

A real Brew film · brew.fm/bart

Who lives in your Spotify?

Your sides are made of your artists. Most people find a few of them put out new music in the last 60 days.

Brew listened to 2,076 songs from Bart’s artists and found 4 people living in there. Then it made them a film, cut to their own songs. Yours takes about a minute.

  • The people inside your library, found by sound - not genres
  • Your four letters, spelled out - and roasted
  • A film and cards to post, cut to your own songs

Free. Brew reads your library and never posts for you. Brew adds one private playlist, Fresh Finds, with new music from your top artists. Remove it any time.

The four letters, and what each one reads

Intimate or Kinetic: whether your taste - weighted toward the side you reach for most - leans to close, quiet music (folk, soul, piano, ambient) or music built to move (house, techno, drum and bass, trap).

Focused or Eclectic: how many distinct sides your library splits into - a few close ones, or a roster.

Rooted or Rising: whether one side of your taste is taking over lately while another fades, or whether you keep coming back to the same places.

Mainstream or Niche: how popular the artists you play are on Spotify, averaged across your library.

Not the Wrapped listening personality

Spotify Wrapped 2022 gave every listener a “listening personality”: one of 16 four-letter types, built from how they played music that year, shown once in December. brew is a different test, run by an independent app, and you can take it any day.

Instead of counting plays it listens to the songs themselves. Every track you keep sits somewhere on one map of sound, your library lights up a few separate regions of it, and each region becomes a side of you - with a nickname, its own songs and a one-line roast.

Questions people ask

Is it free?
The test is free - your sides, your four letters, your type and the film. Brew's real job is making sure you never miss a release from your artists: free watches your top 10, lifetime up to 1,000.
Is this Spotify’s own personality test?
No. Spotify’s listening personality was part of Wrapped 2022. brew’s test is independent, reads your library by sound, and works any day of the year.
How long does it take?
About a minute the first time, because brew listens to every artist in your library. After that your reading opens instantly.
Do I have to give brew my password?
No. You sign in through Spotify’s own login page, and brew reads your library from there. It never sees your password and never posts anything for you. brew is independent and not affiliated with Spotify.
