Release Radar not updating?

Why your Release Radar looks stuck

Release Radar is rebuilt once a week, on Friday, from new music by artists you follow and play - and it gives you one song per artist. A quiet week for your artists, or a short list of follows, and it can look stuck or empty until the next Friday.

Works with the playlists you already have. Free to start.

In the last 30 days brew tracked 16,274 new releases from 11,384 artists in its listeners’ playlists.

How Release Radar actually works

Spotify builds it every Friday from new music by artists you follow, artists you listen to, and other artists it thinks you’ll like. Each listener gets one song per artist per week, and a song you haven’t heard can stay for up to four weeks.

So a whole new album from your favorite band arrives as a single track, and a week when your artists release nothing is a week when the playlist barely moves.

Why yours looks stale or empty

It isn’t Friday yet: the playlist only changes once a week. Your artists didn’t put anything out that week. You follow few artists and haven’t played much lately, so Spotify has less to build from. Or the same unheard songs are carrying over - they can stay up to four weeks.

What you can do inside Spotify

Follow the artists you care about, since Release Radar weighs them in. Check What’s New under the bell icon on Home for recent releases from artists you follow. And turn on New music in Settings, under Notifications.

Or stop waiting for Friday

brew watches the artists already in your playlists and puts their new music into Spotify for you - every single, remix and B-side, not one song a week. Free covers the 10 strongest artists in up to 3 playlists, checked weekly. Lifetime watches every artist in them, every day, for $49 once.

Questions people ask

When does Release Radar update?
Every Friday. Spotify rebuilds it once a week from new releases, so it won’t change between Fridays.
Why is my Release Radar empty?
Usually because the artists Spotify builds it from had no new releases that week, or because you follow and play few artists. It refills on the next Friday.
Can I get every new song from my favorite artists, not just one?
Not from Release Radar - it gives each listener one song per artist per week. brew’s release tracker adds every new single, remix and B-side from the artists in your playlists to a Spotify playlist.
Is brew free?
Free to start: up to 3 living playlists, each watching its 10 strongest artists once a week, plus 90 days of Fresh Finds from your top 10 artists. Lifetime is $49 once, no subscription: every artist in up to 100 playlists, checked daily, and the taste-matched modes.
